Over the years, our core business – caring for bespoke, made-to-measure, designer, high fashion and couture garments and gowns – has exposed us to many unusual and wonderful garments and gowns with trim and embellishments.
This exposure has allowed us to become highly skilled in cleaning and finishing these garments and gowns – garments and gowns that would be routinely rejected as “uncleanable” or “extremely risky” by the vast majority of ordinary cleaners.

Choose the right dry cleaning fluid for your specialty garments
Many specialty garments are subject to potential damage when cleaned in a dry cleaning solvent or dry cleaning fluid that's particularly aggressive.
Occasionally, the care label attached to your garment may specify the dry cleaning solvent or dry cleaning fluid that should or should not be used. Basically, the manufacturer is suggesting that the "wrong" dry cleaning solvent or dry cleaning fluid might damage the garment in some fashion, such as melting the beads, stripping the paint/silkscreen or bleeding the suede and/or leather trim
Many specialty garments are subject to potential damage when cleaned in a dry cleaning solvent fluid that's particularly aggressive. These solvents include perchloroethylene (aka Dowper), synthetic petroleum (ask DF2000 or EcoSolv) and formaldehyde dibutyl acetal (aka K4 or SolvOn).
At RAVE FabriCARE, we don't use any of these 3 solvents for any garment.
Instead, we use a proprietary dry cleaning fluid -- siloxane -- that’s used by fewer than 3% of all cleaners. It’s:
- completely odorless.
- dermatologically friendly.
- extremely gentle. So gentle it’s used as a base ingredient in many personal care products you apply to your skin on a daily basis. So gentle you can wash your face and hands in it.
- chemically inert. Which means that our dry cleaning fluid won’t “bleed” or “fade” your colors like other dry cleaning solvents.
- imparts no dry cleaning solvent smell. Ever.
- imparts no fragrance or perfume smell. Ever.

So before you drop off your specialty garments to any dry cleaner, question the dry cleaner about the dry cleaning solvent(s) they use -- without informing them as to the reason for the question.
Why? Because dry cleaners understand the negative connotations associated with these 3 solvents and, as a result, may not be "factual" or "forthcoming" in their response, particularly if they know, in advance, the reason for the question.
