Welcome to Local On Demand pickup and delivery

At RAVE FabriCARE, we offer Regularly Scheduled or On Call pickup and delivery services in specific zip codes using our own delivery vans and employees.

Our Regularly Scheduled or On Call service is designed for clients who have expressed a strong interest in utilizing our services on a regular basis.

Examples of a Regularly Scheduled client include:

  • A client who resides permanently in one of the specific zip codes served by our pickup and delivery service and where we pickup and deliver once or twice a week.
  • A client who resides permanently in one of the specific zip codes served by our pickup and delivery service and where we pickup and deliver once or twice a week, except for a few months during the summer.
  • A client who resides part time in one of the specific zip codes served by our pickup and delivery service – such as a winter resident – and where we pickup and deliver once or twice 
a week during their fall/winter/spring residency.

Examples of an On Call client include:

  • A client who resides permanently in one of the specific zip codes served by our pickup and delivery service, who travels extensively and where we pickup and deliver many times during the course of a year when they are not traveling.
  • A client who was an On Call client with multiple orders during 2023 and who was, therefore, an On Call client in good standing as of January 1, 2024.

Why On Demand pickup and delivery?

It's important to understand that our Regularly Scheduled or On Call pickup and delivery services is a free service. The rationale behind offering this free service is simple:

The volume of business generated by a Regularly Scheduled or On Call client more than offsets the added cost of offering that convenience at no extra cost to the client.

As such, we do not offer this free service in the specific zip codes served by our Regularly Scheduled or On Call pickup and delivery service to those whose need or desire for service is one time or occasional.

Nonetheless, we recognize that there are situations where a current or potential In-Store client or past On Call client:

  • Lives in a zip code not currently serviced by our Regularly Scheduled or On Call pickup and delivery service (for example, Cave Creek in the north, Chandler in the south, Gilbert in the east or Litchfield Park in the west).
  • Lives in a zip code currently serviced by our Regularly Scheduled or On Call pickup and delivery service, but does not have the volume of business necessary to justify our free Regularly Scheduled
or On Call pickup and delivery service.
  • Does not want to drive to our facility in the Scottsdale Airpark, irrespective of the zip code in which they might reside and irrespective of their travel distance to our facility.

We have a possible solution: Our On Demand pickup and delivery service.

Think of our On Demand pickup and delivery service as a DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats or InstaCart for your fine garments and household textiles.

How our On Demand pickup and delivery service works

Receiving

We offer 3 options:

  1. Drop off your garments, household textiles and accessories at our facility in the Scottsdale Airpark.

    Please note: Accessories such as handbags and shoes and leather and suede garments must
always be dropped off personally so we can evaluate those items in your presence, discuss the 
work to be undertaken, estimate the labor time and corresponding cost, and provide you with an assessment as to
    the results that can reasonably be expected.
  2. Ship your garments and household textiles to us using our Nationwide Clean By Mail service.



    You can ship your items to us in a box via UPS, FedEx or US Post Office from anywhere in the greater Phoenix metro area. It'll arrive at our facility the next day.
  3. Pickup from your home or office using our On Demand pickup service.

Delivery

We offer 3 options:

  1. Pick up your garments, household textiles and accessories at our facility in the Scottsdale Airpark.

    Please note: Accessories such as handbags and shoes and leather and suede garments must always be picked up personally so we can review the results of our work with you.
  2. Ship your garments and household textiles to you using our Nationwide Clean By Mail service.

    We ship via UPS or US Post Office, whichever is more economical, unless you specify otherwise. If you have your own UPS or FedEx account, we can ship using that account.


    Every day, we carefully pack and ship throughout the USA, Canada and selected other countries. Because of our time-tested packing methods and packaging materials, garments arrive at their destination in ready-to-wear condition with practically no creases/wrinkling. Household textiles are carefully folded and arrive in ready-to-use condition with as few creases/wrinkles as possible.

    We can do the same for you where ever you reside in the greater Phoenix metro area.
  3. Deliver to your home or office using our On Demand delivery service.

Maximum timing flexibility

Our On Demand pickup & delivery service is available Monday through Saturday.

Pickups

You can call us at (480) 998-8266 at anytime between 7:30am and 5:30pm Monday through Friday and Saturday between 8:30am and 12:00 noon to schedule a pickup.

We can, literally, pick up at any time that's convenient for you. When selecting a time window during which
you want to schedule your pickup, please consider the following:

  • We need a few hours advance notice to arrange for the pickup and then make the actual pickup.
  • We need to return the pickup to our Scottsdale facility that same day within the hours indicated above.

For example, if you call Friday morning to schedule a pickup for Friday morning, Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, we need the time to (1) arrange for the pickup, (2) make the actual pickup, and (3) return the
pickup to our Scottsdale facility that same day within the hours indicated above.

To eliminate any problems associated with missing your pickup, consider designating a pickup point at your home or office so that you don't have to be at home or at the office to receive service.

Deliveries

We can make a delivery at anytime between 9:30am and 5:30pm Monday through Friday and Saturday between 9:30am and 12:00 noon.

We can, literally, deliver at any time that's convenient for you. When selecting a time window during which you want to schedule your delivery, please consider the following:

  • We need a few hours advance notice to arrange for the delivery and then make the actual delivery.
  • We need to plan for the return of the delivery to our Scottsdale facility that same day within the hours indicated above -- in the event we cannot effect the delivery for any reason (for example, you requested us to ring the front door bell but no one answered the door bell within a reasonable period of time).

To eliminate any problems associated with the possible return of a delivery to our facility, consider designating a delivery point at your home or office so that you don't have to be at home or at the office to receive service.

Get set up now and you'll be ready to act now or in the immediate future. Once quick call is all it'll take.

Minimum order

The minimum order for an On Demand pickup and/or delivery is 4 garments for dry cleaning (excluding any garment attachments such as belts, detachable hoods, detachable collars, etc.).

The purpose of setting a minimum order quantity is to ensure that our On Demand service is economically viable -- for both the client and for RAVE FabriCARE.

That being said, we recognize that minimum order quantities cannot anticipate every scenario. So we need to be flexible.

If you have less than 4 garments for dry cleaning, please call us at 480-998-8266. We'll discuss your needs with you and figure out how we might be able to accommodate those needs.

Here are some examples:

  • A client has a single garment -- say a garment adorned with rhinestones, beads or sequins -- that their local cleaner refuses to clean.

    The client decides to send that garment to RAVE FabriCARE and concludes that paying the On Demand pickup and delivery charge (plus driver tip) is acceptabl
  • A client has a single garment -- say a garment that "they just love" -- that their local dry cleaner returned in "unsatisfactory condition". This could include garments that have remaining stains; garments that have been poorly pressed; knits that are misshaped/stretched/shrunken; garments that have a non-original feel or "hand" to the fabric; garments that were once white and that are now grayish/yellowish/dingy; garments returned with a bad smell (such as body odor, dry cleaning solvent, fragrance; etc.

    The client decides to send that garment to RAVE FabriCARE and concludes that paying the On Demand pickup and delivery charge (plus driver tip) is acceptable.
  • A client has a single garment -- say a garment that's relatively expensive -- that they don't want to entrust to their local cleaner.

    The client decides to send that garment to RAVE FabriCARE and concludes that paying the On Demand pickup and delivery charge (plus driver tip) is acceptable.
  • A client has three household textiles -- say a large arm chair slip cover and 2 matching cushion covers -- that their local cleaner declined because they don't "do" household textiles.

    The client decides to send that garment RAVE FabriCARE and concludes that paying the On Demand pickup and delivery charge is acceptable.

The specifics

For our On Demand pickup and delivery service, RAVE FabriCARE partners with Roadie, a subsidiary of
United Parcel Service (UPS).

Roadie, in turn, employs independent, vetted drivers to effect all pickups and/or deliveries.

The Local On Demand Pickup & Delivery Application form will ask you for your:

  • Name
  • Residential address
  • Office address (should you desire pick up from or delivery to your office)
  • Cell phone number

  • Preferred method of communication (cell, text or email)
  • Pickup and/or delivery point at your residence or your office (you can choose between direct personal contact with the driver or no personal contact with the driver)

    Examples:

    At a residence,
    you can choose:

  • Credit card information (number, expiration and security code).

    Please note: Your credit card information is highly secure within our system. Apart from the last 4 digits of your card number and the expiration date, no card information, once entered, is visible to anyone or can be retrieved by anyone. Not even by management.

Complete the requested information on the Local On Demand Pickup & Delivery Application form at the bottom of this page and then click on "Submit Signup".

On receipt of the form, we'll establish an On Demand account for you.

Then we'll contact you to let you know that you're ready to go.

Scheduling the first pickup using our On Demand service

Complete an On Demand Inventory of Items Sent form (see PDF form below).

  • If you don't use the On Demand Inventory of Items Sent form, our piece count, on receipt, must be accepted as definitive.
  • .If you do use the On Demand Inventory of Items Sent form and there's any discrepancy between the items listed and the items received, we'll contact you immediately – prior to processing your order.

The On Demand Inventory of Items Sent form lists your specific items. Next to each listed item is an area for notes should you wish to draw our attention to something specific such as the nature of the stain or soiling (if known), any hand ironing and packaging preferences, any repairs that you'd like us to make, etc.

  • The On Demand Inventory of Items Sent form is a PDF form. Open the PDF, complete the requested information and print out the form.
  • Place the form and your garments and/or household textiles in a bag marked RAVE FABRICARE (when we return your items to you we'll provide you with a RAVE FabriCARE nylon blue bag with a unique, identifying laminated tag for future use).
  • Call us to schedule a pickup (specify your desired date of pickup and time window during which you want Roadie to effect pickup).
  • We'll contact Roadie and, using your preferred method of communication (cell, text or email), confirm the pick up date and time window.
  • Personally hand over the bag to the Roadie driver or leave the bag at the agreed-upon pickup and delivery point at your home or office.
  • Upon pickup of your bag, Roadie will update our Roadie Account with, amongst other things, the address of the pickup, date and time of the pickup and a photo of the bag being personally picked up from you or being picked up from your agreed-upon pickup and delivery point.
  • On delivery of the bag to us, we'll contact you to confirm receipt. We'll also discuss any issues associated with your garments and/or household textiles that may require clarification.

When we return your first order, we'll provide you with a RAVE FabriCARE nylon blue bag for future use. Because each bag has a unique, identifying laminated tag with your name, address and other particulars, we'll know exactly whose garments and/or household textiles are in the bag.

Scheduling any subsequent pickups using our On Demand service

  • Complete the On Demand Inventory of Items Sent form.
    As described above (“Scheduling the first pickup”), this form, although recommended, is optional.
  • Place the form (if you elect to use it) and your garments and/or household textiles in the RAVE FabriCARE nylon blue bag that was delivered to you when we delivered your first order.
  • Call us to schedule a pickup (specify your desired date of pickup and time window during which you
    want Roadie to effect pickup).
  • We'll contact Roadie and, using your preferred method of communication (cell, text or email), confirm
    the pick up date and time window.
  • Personally hand over the bag to the Roadie driver or leave the bag at the agreed-upon pickup and delivery point at home or office.
  • Upon pickup of your bag, Roadie will update our Roadie Account with, amongst other things, the address of the pickup, date and time of the pickup and a photo of the bag being personally picked up from you or being picked up from your agreed-upon pickup and delivery point at your home or office.
  • On delivery of the bag to us, we'll contact you to confirm receipt. We'll also discuss any issues associated with your garments and/or household textiles that may require clarification.

Scheduling a delivery using our On Demand service

  • On completion of our work, we'll contact you using your preferred method of communication (cell, text or email), to determine the date on which you wish to schedule delivery and the associated time window.
  • We'll contact Roadie and, using your preferred method of communication (cell, text or email), confirm the delivery date and the associated time window.
  • Upon delivery of your items, Roadie will update our Roadie Account with, amongst other things, the address of the delivery, date and time of the delivery and a photo of the garments and/or household textiles being personally delivered to you or hanging at your agreed-upon delivery point at your home or office.

Charges

An invoice identifying the item(s) cleaned and their individual costs will be attached to each garment (or set of garments) and/or household textile (or set of household textiles).

We'll also attach a separate invoice to cover any pickup and/or delivery charges according to the table of rates specified above.

A credit card receipt will be attached to your order(s) in a separate envelope.

Please note: If you are using the On Demand pickup service, the On Demand Inventory of Items Sent form identified above asks you whether you want a Cost Estimate prior to processing your order. Please see more about Pricing below.

About Roadie

Roadie is a United Parcel Service (UPS) company.

Roadie employs vetted, independent drivers located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area to effect pickups and deliveries on our behalf.

These drivers operate in much the same way as DoorDash, GrubHub and UberEats.

To be eligible to accept a RAVE FabriCARE pickup and/or delivery order, every Roadie driver must agree to the following terms:

RAVE FabriCARE is a dry cleaner. We require a clean, smoke free, vape free, odor free and animal free vehicle for pickups and deliveries.

If you're making a pickup, you can place the bag of garments and/or household textiles on a passenger seat or in any cargo area.

If you're making a delivery and operate a passenger vehicle, deliveries must be hung on a bar or hook at the passenger door window(s) to minimize any possible wrinkling of the garments and/or household textiles; if you operate a delivery van, deliveries must be hung in the cargo area to minimize any possible wrinkling.

We're available to help you hang any deliveries in your vehicle for you.

On Demand pickup and delivery service rates

The rates specified in the table above reflect the actual charges we pay to Roadie for their pickup 
and delivery services.

These rates are designed solely to recoup Roadie's actual charges to us.

As with our Nationwide Clean By Mail service (where we recoup the actual UPS or USPS shipping charges from our clients), we don't make a profit on Roadie's actual pickup and delivery charges.

Tipping

Unless you so desire, please do not tip your Roadie driver on pickup or delivery on any order.

Please note that Roadie's rates specified above does not include any provision for a tip.

RAVE FabriCARE pays for the pickup and/or the delivery tip. It's set at a level that encourages maximum driver efficacy. We regard the cost of the tip as part of the overall cost of operating our business.

Pricing

On Demand pickup and delivery clients pay the same prices as our local in-store clients, our 
nationwide clean by mail clients, and our worldwide clean by mail clients.

Unlike ordinary cleaners, we don’t add a 3% to 6% “environmental tax, surcharge or charge” to any service order. There is no such state-mandated or city-mandated “environmental tax, surcharge or charge” in Arizona.

And unlike ordinary cleaners, we don't add a “fuel surcharge” to any service order. Truth be told, these “temporary” fuel surcharges” never disappear – even when fuel prices go down.

There is no sales tax on any of our services in Arizona.

Turnaround time

For over 35 years, RAVE FabriCARE has specialized in bespoke, made-to-measure, designer, high fashion, specialty and couture garments and casual wear.

Given that our in-house technical skills and processes are all geared to caring for such garments, and given that we only offer one level** of garment care quality, we do not offer same day, next day two day or even three day service.

There are over 400 dry cleaners in the Valley of the Sun who'd be quite happy to speed your fine garments through their "clean and press" process in a day or two. Fact is, notwithstanding what ordinary dry cleaners might tell you, fine garment care is, simply, incompatible with speed.

Our normal turnaround time on regular dry cleaning, shirt laundry and household textiles is 1 week.
