“30 minutes or less…or it’s free”.
That simple guarantee (terminated in 1993 due to an auto injury lawsuit) saved Domino’s Pizza from near bankruptcy.
The secret to the offer’s success resided in the nature of the average, tired, hungry consumer.
What seemed like the very best bet – a great tasting pizza, incorporating the freshest and highest quality ingredients, baked using time-honored methods, but requiring time to produce – was replaced by poor to mediocre pizza that arrived in a half an hour or it was free.
The same can be said about ordinary dry cleaners, where same day service, next day service, and 3 day pick up and delivery service is the order of the day.
In the metro Phoenix area (and, similarly, in any major metropolitan area), there are hundreds of ordinary dry cleaners producing and delivering the dry cleaning equivalent of a Domino’s Pizza (or a Papa John’s or a Pizza Hut or a Little Caesar’s, for that matter).
But not at RAVE FabriCARE.
Quite frankly, if we had to choose between delivering garment care that was the metaphorical equivalent of Domino’s Pizza, we’d rather lock the doors, throw away the keys and move to the Coast.
Our normal turnaround time on regular dry cleaning, shirt laundry and household textiles is one week.

Why, you may ask, don’t we operate like ordinary cleaners?
Why can’t you drop off your cleaning on a Monday by 9:00 and pick it up that same day at 5:00? Or, at the latest, by 5:00 on the following day?
Why can’t we pick up your cleaning on day 1 (say a Monday) and deliver it on day 3 (say a Thursday)? And pick up your cleaning on day 1 (say a Thursday) and deliver on day 3 (say a Monday)?
Because we don’t – and won’t – produce what we call “ordinary cleaning” and what dry cleaning industry experts calls “bang and hang cleaning”.
Ordinary cleaning or bang and hang cleaning essentially involves tossing your cleaning into a machine, banging it out on a press, hanging it on a hanger, stuffing it in a bag, and cramming it on holding racks or shuttling it out the door.
Believe it or not, this is standard operating procedure at the vast majority of ordinary cleaners, including those offering pickup and delivery service.
To illustrate this, go back to our Monday/Thursday pickup and delivery example, and examine what happens to your cleaning that’s picked up on a Thursday and delivered on a Monday by ordinary cleaners.
In all probability, those articles are tagged on Thursday evening or Friday morning. “Cleaned”, “pressed” and “bagged” on Friday. This way they’re “right and ready” to be delivered on Monday. (The same principle applies to cleaning picked up on a Friday and delivered on a Tuesday.)
Just think about that for a second.
That’s nothing less than same day. Or at the very best, next day service!
Given this scenario, would you knowingly subject your fine garments — especially your bespoke, made-to-measure, designer, high fashion, specialty and couture garments — to same day or next day service cleaning?
Of course not!
So here’s our dilemma: we can either focus all our resources on consistently producing the finest cleaning in Arizona, or we can deliver the same “bang and hang” cleaning offered by over 400 ordinary cleaners in the metro Phoenix area.
In a hectic world of same day service, next day service and 3 day pick up and delivery service, you can take comfort in the fact that we take the time to do it right.

“I purchased a VERY expensive, gorgeous blue Prada handbag while in Florence this fall. The first day I used it, I was caught in a downpour of Biblical proportions and my handbag was left terribly spotted by rain. One of my favorite things about the bag was the color and now it was basically ruined by water spots. I didn't want the bag dyed black to hide the damage, so I researched high end leather cleaners and found RAVE. “For the RAVE Bespoke Service, the jackets come back on wide hangers hung within individual tombstone boxes, stuffed carefully with acid-free tissue that their excellent ironwork is completely undisturbed. They will photograph items on arrival so that there is a reference for the pressing staff. The quality of the ironwork is no less than from a tailor. It's entirely above the standard of a dry cleaner. I can't imagine settling for anything less than this for bespoke clothes, and cross country is still easier than cross Atlantic, which is what I used to do. The last delivery that I got was about an eight foot high stack of such boxes.”

“... I just received some items back from RAVE FabriCARE, one suit and two pairs of my wife's white pants. First, what packaging. Each item was carefully padded and wrapped, the sleeves stuffed, and the lapel not crushed. The suit fabric looked and felt new. Even better, my wife's whites were restored. “This is simply the best cleaner in the nation. Those looking for an inexpensive cleaner, be warned. RAVE is pricy, but worth every dollar spent. I wear suits and sport coats on a daily basis and have had horrible experiences with different cleaners. Issues from cracked buttons, to them not pressing the jacket correctly, I was fed up. I met Stu at my place of employment (they offer free pick up and delivery at my place of employment) and told me about his establishment. I decided to give him a try. Well, a week later I spilled expresso on my trousers. I tried my local cleaners but they were unable to get a simple coffee stain out. I finally tried RAVE and sent my whole suit to be cleaned, and it came back a week later looking like new. The lapels are hand pressed giving it that rolled factor (there is nothing worse than a suit with lapels that have no life). For those that have had a suit made, bespoke or MTM, you understand the importance of a lapel brimmed with life. I've also had a wonderful 3 button roll sport coat (3 button coat that looks like a 2 button) cleaned and was pleased when it came back pressed to accommodate the roll. I love the fact that RAVE will take the buttons off and have your coat cleaned and then sew them back on. No more cracked horn buttons!! Yes!! Lastly RAVE is a miracle worker when it comes to white shirts. The shirt RAVE cleaned was my first custom shirt ever by Zegna. It had obvious signs of wear, many launderings, and god awful yellow armpit stains. RAVE was able to make the shirt look brand new! In conclusion, if you're looking for a "cheap" cleaner, RAVE is not the cleaner for you. But remember, you get what you pay for. RAVE FabriCARE is worth every penny. And on a final note, RAVE is used by Saville Row tailors. If the best suit makers in the world use RAVE, then you know RAVE is simply the best.”
“Stu at RAVE is an old school artisan who understands stains and cloth. His business is quality hand cleaning of garments, not tubs of shirts at $2.49 on a hanger. I priced out Jeeves in NYC for some Hermes scarves that needed help. Stu did a better job at half the price. I do not live in Arizona so our transaction took place completely thru email and UPS. The scarves were returned on a tissue covered board - a real presentation. Just perfect. He saved one I thought was lost and brightened the color a good bit. I can only imagine how dresses come out. I am about to try an ochre silk covered with breading from the 40s. If you have good clothing this is a way to help them last longer. If you have an ugly spot, he can probably find something to remove it and not hurt the cloth. A fine place all round.”
